The Universal Sisterhood (US) is a not-for- profit organization that is committed to the wholistic healing, support, and sustainable capacity-building of women worldwide. US provides a nurturing platform for women of all ages to share their experiences, develop their gifts, and access more empowering ways of being. Through facilitated workshops, dynamic social gatherings, creative celebrations, community outreach initiatives, outdoor group activities, and fundraising events, the Universal Sisterhood exists to promote harmony and wellness. Moreover, the Universal Sisterhood is an inclusive, non-political organization that celebrates feminine diversity of culture, creed and sexual orientation.

With a strong interest in ameliorating the challenges faced by disenfranchised women at home as well as abroad, US aspires to be a force of hope, growth, resources and inspiration both locally and internationally.

About:

The Universal Sisterhood was founded in Toronto, Canada in 2011 by wholistic intuitive healer and spiritual counselor T’ameaux (see: www.tameaux.com) who was specifically inspired by her mother Hyacinth Brown who died prematurely in 2007 at the age of 53. Having watched the many challenges her mother faced as a hard-working single parent committed to raising 2 children, T’ameaux launched US to provide women with more community support, the means to enjoy better overall health, and empowering opportunities for greater personal fulfillment. Moreover, as a natural healer since childhood who was often misunderstood because of her gifts, T’ameaux was eager to create a safe, non-judgmental forum to help women discover and develop their own healing talents. The Universal Sisterhood therefore, offers women of all ages a unique platform to not only build sororal community bonds with one another, but also to continue their own personal growth process in the name of self-discovery and self-actualization.

How to Be Involved with US:

Involvement with the Universal Sisterhood is quite simple and depends first and foremost on how much time each woman has for US. Given that we are all busy juggling various personal and professional responsibilities, US was created to improve the quality of our lives as women, not to create additional chores or burdens. The goal then, is for members to share quality time as part of the Universal Sisterhood when it is desirable for them to do so, via a positive feminine culture that is both individually and collectively empowering. Most importantly, involvement with US is entirely voluntary, and it is assumed that each woman who connects to the Universal Sisterhood has decided for herself that it is worthwhile to do so. Although every organization is enhanced by the scope, size and quality of its membership, the Universal Sisterhood only wants women who want to be part of the group. The enjoyment and subjective value experienced as a result of involvement with our sororal community must always be the main reason why anyone is part of US.
